When we set out to bring our design to life, it was a strict requirement that a Iuniq floor should be at least as good as a traditional tile floor. A Iuniq floor has everything that makes a traditional tile floor attractive as well as a number of additional features and benefits.

A Iuniq floor, just like a traditional tile floor, consists of three parts: subfloor, tiles and joints. Installing Iuniq click moulds takes a little longer than installing a subfloor but clicking in the tiles is faster than gluing. In either case, the entire process takes about the same amount of time.Compared to a traditional tile floor, a Iuniq floor pays for itself within six years. A Iuniq floor and a traditional tile floor have one thing in common: they use ceramic tiles. In that respect, they are exactly the same. Bothtypes of floor are just as flat and tight. It’s only the joints that look different. But because a Iuniq floor never displays colour differences in the joints, itis probably even more beautiful.
As Iuniq click moulds interlock at different points, a rigid and stable support surface is created. Modern plastics have exceptional strength and rigidity as well as convenient, low weights. These material properties ensure that the load-bearing capacity of a Iuniq floor is at least 750 kg/m2 – more than enough for retail floors that are subjected to heavy loads and are driven on by pallet jacks.
The narrow dimensional tolerances of Iuniq click moulds guarantee a flatness comparable to that of a traditional tile floor. And because there are no moving parts, the floor is just as wear-resistant.
During the design process, slip resistance was an important point of attention. The tile and click mould construction must be so tight that no parts can slip loose. As Iuniq floors were subjected to very strict tests, we can guarantee that our click moulds meet this requirement.
The plastic joint provides a seal that remains watertight under all circumstances. A Iuniq floor is therefore as waterproof as a traditional tile floor.
To prevent noise nuisance, a Iuniq floor is always disconnected from the walls and other vertical structures so that there is no transfer of vibrations.All the elements of a Iuniq floor – click mould, tile and plastic joint – meet the strictest requirements for fire resistance.
The plastic joint is made of a material that does not discolour or chemically react with dirt or detergents. This means a Iuniq floor is as convenient and durable as a traditional tile floor.
Plastic joints do not react with detergents and do not discolour as a result of prolonged contact with such liquids. In addition, the jointsare highly resistant to the pressure exerted by cleaning equipment. A Iuniq floor is therefore just as easy to keep clean as a traditional tile floor.
Tiles that have been removed from a Iuniq floor are free from glue andgrout residues. They are just as functional as new tiles. A Iuniq floor can even be completely disassembled and laid elsewhere; for example, in a new building after relocation.If a tile is damaged and therefore not suitable for reuse, recycling is still an option as it can be ground up to create the raw material for new tiles.
The production of mortar, tile adhesive and grout involve energy- and resource-intensive processes which produce considerable emissions. With Iuniq plastic moulds and joints, these processes are avoided.
As all parts of a Iuniq floor are reusable and recyclable, fewer raw materials need to be mined and fewer new products have to be made. Moreover, logistics movements are also reduced. In addition, replacing a floor is significantly less labour-intensive. This too helps cut emissions and energy consumption. Sustainability is also a priority in our own logistics processes. With a traditional floor, you have to chip away to extract a damaged tile. It’s a meticulous job and the surrounding tiles can be easily damaged. Furthermore, the new tile is often not entirely flush with the rest of the floor and there is almost always a colour difference between the new and the existing joint.
Where a Iuniq floor is concerned, all you have to do is remove the plastic joint and snap out the damaged tile. Click in the new tile, put the joint back in place and you’re done. The new tile is completely flush with the rest of the floor. There’s no difference in colour between the joints and the entire procedure is significantly faster.
New tile floors are often laid over existing ones. As this raises the floor by 2-3 cm, it can basically only be done once. The existing tile floor must then be removed, after which it is necessary to get rid of adhesive residues, levelling layers or old coating and paint layers. This is followed by applying a new levelling layer or coating. Only then can the tiles be laid.
With a Iuniq floor, you simply remove the plastic joint, snap out the old tiles and click in the new ones. Put the joint back in place and you’re done. This makes it very easy to replace the tile floor and is therefore a much more flexible and convenient solution.
The Iuniq click mould has special conduits that allow cables to be passed through. This means that electrical points can be installed anywhere in the floor without the need for a major intervention. The click moulds are also designed in such a way that pressure loads around electrical points are well absorbed.
Rerouting cables or moving electrical points is never an issue, as the tiles are easy to click out and in again.
